Has anyone been able to get Android to run on a second generation iPod touch with the old bootrom?

It's been down for a while, about 2 years. I've been tracking the iDroidProject since 2011 and they haven't made much progress due to lack of resources and manpower. As I recall, they did, however, manage to install openiboot onto the second generation iPod and I think third gen as well. There are a few tutorials on the web on how to do this, but you'll need linux or Mac OSX. This process doesn't work on windows.
