There's this post i found on Linux on the iPhone . They are instructions on porting OpeniBoot to the 2G and 3G iPods and the 3GS iPhone.
When did planet being say that? His twitter has not been updated since July of 2009?

On the Linux On The iPhone wiki, it said that JayWalker is working on it: right now he is working on porting OpeniBoot.

It would be nice if it could go into a box and be used more as an app, but the whole keyboard need would destroy the fun
