Application locking app?

Hi, I jut got a MacBook today! Everything is beautiful but the only thing that seems to bother me is the fact that most apps/programs don't have a function that asks you a password when you open it for example Adium or even Mail.

I was wondering if there are any apps are there with that kind of function? Or since I'm new to the MacBook, a simple function like that in the Mac itself and I've already searched a little.

There may be…I'm on my iPhone now and can't check. But, this is really what user accounts are for. If you're letting someone use your Mac, logout and let them on with a Guest Account.
