    Default Theory on free Mac

    Ok,first off, sorry if this has been posted before or is in the wrong section.

    So if the only reason Apple is allowed to "own" Macs, is because they "sell the software additions, not the OS", then why can't someone just strip all the programs off, and legaly distribute it for free? Then they could modify it, and it could be a pretty cool version of Linux that could run linux, and mac programs.
