Not A Noobie, but.......
I can't for the life of me remember how to set up an ad-hoc network (iPhone to MacBook), and have the config saved so I can disconnect and still have the network show up unde the airport menubar symbol? I tried the Mac Help...but you guessed it......no help.... ;-(

Yeah lame isn't it. I haven't figured out any way to create a permanent ad-hoc network. bah. I've gotten quite used to creating a new network every time.

Right click the Wifi signal icon in the menu bar. Go to Create Network...

does anyone know how to make one that works with a iPhone and Vista? i have tried multiple times, my iPhone connects to it (in settings etc) but still doesnt work :@
