"energiesource": Definitely answer Cash's question - b/c that could have something to do with it but I would also try to rub the mouse ball it with an "alcohol swab"... (I'm assuming you have already adjusted your settings under "system preferences")

My mighty mouse started acting up a few weeks ago so I took into the store, and as soon as I pulled it out an employee came up to me and said: is your mouse acting up? (actually the first thing she said was: "...you have a mouse in your pocket" - no comment..: ) So I said yes, it doesn't seem to scroll correctly anymore. She took it to the back and then a few minutes later brought it back and we tested it out - worked great.

I asked her if they get that a lot and she said ALL the time... Then just said all you need to do is to swab it with a dry cloth with alcohol on it (make sure it doesn't have loose lint, etc...) So, anyway - try that and see if it fixes it.

Hope that helps!
