Damn it mang. It is now saying the iphone 5 on 6.1 is "not eligible for restore". I think this has happened in the past and I tried restoring and erasing from the phone but it bricked. Now what 2k1?

Make sure iTunes is up to date. And you may have to download the 6.1 file manual. After the file is downloaded open iTunes shift click restore or option click restore depending if on Mac or pc and point it to the 6.1 firmware and let it go.

Be sure to put your phone in a true DFU mode before restoring!
MyLocation App update for 5.1.1 - 6.1.2 from bushe! Incase you are having problems, this app is working fine. You may need an updated location.js file. If it has been updated, and still not updating go to settings/general/reset and reset all settings, this will not affect your JB!

You still haven't said if you are putting your phone in DFU mode when you are trying to restore. This is very important, because it guarantees a complete wipe of your system. Then setup as new.

Yes I put it in DFU mode by powering off and then plugging in while holding the home button. then I get that message. I tried otion click but am not sure where to find the firmware. Is there another way to hard reset it maybe?

I have downloaded 6.1 from apple as well as other sites and it just will not work I know i cannot simply erase all content as I am jailbroken w/ evasion 1.0. Is there another way to wipe the damn phone?
It just keeps telling me after extracting software " the iphone is not eligible for the requested build". About to chuck the damn thing out the window!

That error means there is an issue with your hosts file. You on Mac or Windows?

1600 is a bit more tricky, keep trying, try DFU mode, try recovery mode, even try to change USB slots on the computer. If still getting 1600 try rebooting the computer.
You can see more about it here: iTunes Errors - The iPhone Wiki
