Manually get out of DFU mode
Hello-
This might or might not be useful but I thought I'd post it anyway; it might be useful. Have you ever put your phone in DFU mode to restore and keep getting error codes and now your phone is stuck in DFU mode? Well, I was messing around with my phone one day and I "manually" took it out of DFU mode. I think this is a great alternative if one does not wish to load redsn0w or other JB-ing software.
Here are the steps to get out of DFU mode:
1. Hold down the "home" + "power" button simultaneously.
2. After 12 seconds of holding, release the home button and continue to hold the power button until the apply logo screen comes on.
3. pat yourself on the back.
Hope this helps in some way
Remember to ! thank!!!

I has been two days since I got this iPhone 4 and I already tried to jailbreak it. If I didn't look this up( which by the way works) I would've been screwed so bad
Thank you so much.

iPhone 4S factory unlocked 5.1.1
I was trying to make a usual re-restore with redsn0w on windows 7 x86 and the latest iTunes till today
I got a message telling me that I have mistakenly guessed this is 5.1.1
(And I always get those messages if I use COPIED or MOVED firmwares) I decided to download a new 5.1.1FW file and I did, while this I was trying a lot of things like TinyUmbrella, iReb, iTunes and redsn0w (although I know they just won't work but I couldn't just wait)
Then I mistakenly unplugged the iPhone while it was restoring ( actually it gave me error message on redsn0w but the iPhone screen froze on restoring bar) after that I tried to put in DFU mode and succeeded but couldn't ever get out of it and when I unplug and replug it windows recognize it in DFU mode, I needed to be in recovery mode to do the re-restore process with the newly downloaded FW but no success
Everything happened so rapidly so I don't remember if all what I said was true, lol
I just downloaded the 6.1 and restored with iTunes easily just to try an unjailbroken iPhone for the first time, hahaha and hopefully waiting for the new JB on Sunday
Sorry for my long message

So I take it that you still have blob for iOS 5.1.1? If so put it in DFU Mode and try restore again via itunes by making sure your hosts file is modified to point itunes to cydia.

Thanks for sharing.
And here with the iPhone data recovery software, you can also put your iPhone/iPad/iPod into DFU Mode easily.Last edited by dennyduke; 02-18-2013 at 07:05 PM.

I registered as well to say THANKS! , but I didn't jailbreak my phone, I just disabled it because I forgot my passcode. Now I'm trying to get into it and hoping I can get into it while in DFU mode. Siiiiiiiiiiigh
