I recently jailbroke my Verizon iPhone 4 on iOS 5 and tried to open the iBooks app and every time I try to open it, the app crashes and won't open. Is anyone else having this problem?

I hear iBooks won't work with a jailbroken device on iOS 5. I think the latest fw version that can be jailbroken and works with iBooks is 4.2.6. On 4.2.8 it doesn't allow certain books to be read. So on iOS 5 I believe iYeow said his doesn't work either.

Are they working on a fix for it?

I don't think iBooks work at all for iOS 5. I was referring to 4.2.8 jailbroken having some books not working. Can't remember the specifics, but 4.2.6 jailbroken is the only fw version with 100% functional iBooks.

iGuru found a fix for this which I posted somewhere, I'll see if I can find it.
I've tried it on my iPad but not yet on my iPhone.
It should work on the CDMA phone so I'll see if I can find it.He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

How many times to I have to point out what an awful site that is?
That is not the fix I used and iGuru's fix has just allowed me to download a bookend open it without a problem onmy iPad running iOS5.
When I get home I will find the proper fix and post it. I have not tried downloading a paid book but have just downloaded a free book without an issue. He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

Here it is #2764036 - Pastie
A respring didn't work for me so I rebooted, iGuru said he thinks he actually resprung twice for it to work not just once.

I've been using the patch described in [self-parody site] that works, but with too many caveats.
I'll try the pastie, see if its any better.

11-14-2011, 07:30 AM #18@confucious: your tip worked!!!! Great thanks
It was easy to follow the instructions of what you 'pastied' and iBooks is fully functional again now!!!
(I'm on iphone 4, ATT, iOS 5 - I'm pretty sure this is equally fine for verizon versions)
