I hate for this to be my first post but I have followed the steps on greenpois0n exactly a dozen times now and it fails everytime. searched for steps and help on youtube and other forums and nothing has worked so far.
Over 2 dozen attemps and nothing. It fails every time like clock work. The sequence in greenpois0n is different than just setting the phone in DFU mode for some reason. Neither of which work for me anyway. Everyone says how easy this is supposed to be and this is turning out to be way too time consuming and frustrating.

If I follow the steps exactly as greenpois0n says to do it doesn't even enter DFU mode. The last step is 15 seconds and it stops with 7 or 8 seconds left and then I click on "jailbreak" and nothing happens but saying jailbreak failed.
Keep holding the home button the entire time?

Tried it the first time and kept holding the home button forever and I got the itunes plug in icon. Tried it a second time and let go when all the green bars on the jailbreak bar in green pois0n were filled up and it failed

Ok. Try this.
Start the dfu countdown. But ignore it.
Instead hold the home and power buttons for 10 seconds. Then let go of the power button and keep holding the home button. The jailbreak button should become available. Press it. Do not let go of the home button during all this until you see scrolling text.

ok.....just tried it with the phone powered up to start with and with the phone powered down. Held both buttons for 10 seconds and let go of the sleep button. Kept holding the home button. Got to about 25 seconds and got the apple logo both times then got the itunes logo.

Thanks for all your help. I apparently am not meant to jailbreak this thing. I've tried at least 50 times now and absolutely zero luck. It only went into dfu mode maybe twice and still didn't jailbreak. I'm tired of trying.

no worries man. Not your fault. Maybe its my computer. I will have a coworker do it for me. He did 3 other coworkers so hopefully he can help me out.
Well now after plugging it into itunes I am running 4.2.7. Is that going to keep me from finally jailbreaking it now or with greenpois0n maybe work for me?
