I think they might have updated the hardware that was giving the shatter exploit on the original iphone 4...just my opinion

No one knows until a Dev get's their hands on one. I've heard rumors that Apple had to make some minor changes to the A4 processor to make it compatible with the CDMA radio, so there is a chance that Apple patched the current exploit. We always have SHAtter though! I'm glad the Dev's held on to that one...

We should know in February if apple has updated the bootrom. That will be the determining factor. At least for the bootrom exploits.

Hopefully it will be released quicker than the 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak, I am running 4.1 jailbroken but will be switching to the VZW iphone on release day... not sure what I would do without a jailbroken phone.. I guess I could just use it normally but that is no fun.

Depends, it is NEW hardware and typically with new apple hardware there is a NEW bootrom revision. If the iPhone has the same bootrom as the current iPhone 4, it will be JB'able from day one. (tethered jailbreak of course) If it has a new bootrom we'll have to wait for a new comex userland jailbreak.

And don't forget that if you bought a shiny new iPhone 4 that AT&T doubled the cancel cost of that contract!
However, with competition now, AT&T will probably continue to offer early upgrade when the iPhone 5 comes out because it will retain customers... Wonder what Verizon will do.Evolution of an iPhone User:

Once an iPhone 4, always an iPhone 4.
