Default Confirming the correct Jailbreak process
New Sprint iphone 4 user here. Im running 5.1.1. I just want to be sure this would be the correct process to proceed to jailbreaking my iphone.

1.) Make a backup of the iphone using itunes.
2.) Use tiny Umbrella to save SHSH.(not sure why you do this?)
3.) Hook up iphone to computer and use latest Absinthe 2.0 to jailbreak it.(Do i open itunes? Close itunes? Anythign special?)

You should save SHSHs for future use. For instance, if a new firmware version is released and there isn't a jailbreak for it yet, and you need to restore to the fw version you're currently running, you can then use your SHSHs to restore with.

And yes your described process is correct. If you run into trouble with Absinthe, simply restore and redo the jb with Redsn0w as an alternative option.
