Any apps or tweaks you guys seriousy recommend? besides SBsettings?

Not really. It's a personal decision depending upon what you need.
My philosophy ... KISS (Keep it simple stupid) Haha j/k It's the best way to stay out of trouble.

Great:/, I re-jailbroke my phone with redsn0w, Did everything right and got into Cydia. I found sbsettings and hit install. At the end when it told me to reboot, I completly powered it off, and begain to reboot using redsn0w. And then, it got stuck on the pinapple. What do I do now?

So I understand completely .... Was the phone connected when Cydia wanted to reboot? Was iTunes open?
Then you used the home + power to turn completely off.....
Next you started redsn0w, selected the ipsw, checked 'enter pwnd-DFU' mode,
Next you followed the count-down timer within redsn0w ...?
Did the phone screen do anything?
When redsn0w said finished, instead of rebooting, you have the pineapple?

After cydia was done installing sbsettings, I only pushed the power button for a few secounds until slide to power off came on. i then slid the slider, and it powered off. I then opened redsn0w, and checked...just boot tethered right now.. and nothing else. i then followed all of the instructions, but it then got stuck on the pineapple mock of the apple logo when powering on. Understand?

Thanks. I understand. Powering off using the 'slide to power' is even better.
I am very confused. Not with you .. but why it goes to the pineapple screen.......
Anyone have any ideas what's going on?

Well I think when you boot up using redsn0w instead of booting up with the apple logo it boots up with the pinapple logo, correct?

Using redsn0w to 'just boot tethered' is supposed to take you to normal operation.
So ... anyone ... why is it going to the pineapple logo?

I'll just try jailbreaking again, I have time haha.
It did it again...Still stuck on the pineapple boot up screen. After you install a cydia app, and you re-boot using redsn0w, do you check just boot tethered now or The pwned DFU mode one?

What version of redsn0w are you using? There is one 'specifically' designed for 4.2.10.

I'm using 0.9 8b4

I just found this:
*UPDATE 8/1/11* After several reports of 4.2.10 tethered jailbreak not working after installing a Cydia package that requires reboot, it appears that it is not currently possible to jailbreak 4.2.10. If you have your 4.2.9, or better yet, 4.2.8 SHSH blobs, you should downgrade. Otherwise, for now, you are out of luck. I am actively trying to find a solution to this issue and will post an update if I find one.

Of course haha.....So i cant get anything that requires a reboot. is there anything even worth getting that doesnt require to reboot?

Do you have SHSH blobs for an earlier iOS version? Like 4.2.8?
08-08-2011, 01:32 PM #39
I might, I dont know how to check though. But i heard downgrading is a bit of a hassle?

Use Tiny Umbrella (link below). In advanced tab, check and uncheck 'get from Cydia', and Save SHSH for each.
The General tab will contain the blobs found.
To restore to an earlier version, download it to your computer. Start TSS Server from inside Tiny Umbrealla and your device selected. You'll still need redsn0w to 'enter pwnd-DFU' mode, then shift/click select that ipsw from iTunes.
4.2.8 is an untethered jailbreak. Would be best if you have SHSH blobs to load this one.
