02-22-2011, 02:13 AM #1How to get User Wallpaper to work with all Themes??
I currently am having some issues with the User Wallpaper, it doesn't allow me to see the wall paper of my choice with use of any Theme I might pick *Mario* and a few others. It's checked in WinterBoard under selected themes, but still no luck If any one has some suggestions or knows what works best please feel free to make me smile with good news! \\//

make sure to move it to the top if the list in winterboard, it should be above everything and then it should work for you

@redchirp --> When I have user wallpaper checked with out a theme, the iphone stocked theme icons are in place and the user wallpaper works , BUT the problem is when I select a theme, the user wallpaper will not work with any chosen theme I might want to add. I am still working on trying to figure it out but still no luck Appreciate the help.

Well you could always try replacing the wallpaper file in the theme with your own.

So I was looking around on google, and apparently the user wallpaper from winterboard won't work with 4.2.1 because all user wallpaper does, is link the wallpaper to whatever wallpaper you chose through Apple's settings. But then apparently, Apple changed the file, or where it was located or something, so it's not working anymore.
And I meant to use SSH, iPhone Explorer, or some other file manager and then go to Library > Themes > User Wallpaper.theme and then replace wallpaper.jpg with your own, but I tried it, it's not working.
So instead, what you could do is go to the themes folder, but ignore user wallpaper and user lock background. Instead, create a new folder in Themes and name it whatever you want. Then inside the folder, place your background named either Wallpaper.jpg or Wallpaper.png (depending on whether its a jpeg or a png). Then go back to winterboard, select your background theme (which is whatever you named the folder) and also make sure it is at the top. Respring, and that should be your new background.

@redchirp yea totally...it just takes more time to create and understand that method. I just wanted to use the resources offered on the jail break, but thanks to Apple they make it harder lol. I appreciate the time looking in to this, if I find a solution, I will post. Meanwhile won't give up.
