Hey guys! I have a 8gb 2gen iPod touch that I'm wanting to upgrade to 5.1.0 then jailbreak. But I heard it won't work with the 2gen iPod. So can someone help?

Nope it wont...2g last firmware was 4.2.1

And I have another question...I downloaded a tweak that allows you to have icons on the lockscreen from Cydia. And once it was downloaded and resprung, it totally messed up my iPod. So I took everything off that came with it and now "features" won't work. I can't have a wall-paper background and multitasking won't work either. But strangely enough, I still have battery percentage. Can anyone help with that?! Thanks again!

Try using 'Fix User DIR Permissions' in Cydia, That might work. Did you mean by you removed every package off Cydia or what?

Okay thanks. I'll try that. No, I deleted every package that was added when I downloaded that tweak.

Hmmm... Well I would guess that it was incompatible with your firmware version (I use it myself) just remove it completely off the device.
If you've already removed it try reinstalling those other tweaks. Hopefully they should work after that.

yes! you heard correct. uninstall it and download the new version. by doing so may your problem solve.
