Use greenpois0n. It's a lot cooler and it changes your apple logo to the greenpois0n logo when you start your divice. ITS AWWWWSOOOME

Greenpois0n works fine. You might have to go through the dfu process multiple times for it to finally work. Just be sure to hold the home button even after successful dfu mode all the way through the process until you see the apple logo/greenpois0n come on.

Ya, use greenpois0n. I have the same device, and the first time I tried to jailbreak with greenpois0n, everything went OK. But when I tried to install Cydia from loader.app, it seemed like it worked. But when I tried to open Cydia it said "Initializing Filesystem... Cydia will exit when complete" for like a second then my iPod resprang. To fix that, you have to do a restore and then re-jailbreak, or at least that's what I had to do.

    Hope I helped!

Lol it say's "What's jailbreaking?" under my name.... How many posts is it on this forum to get that thing to change to a different one?

I just jailbroke my iPod Touch 2nd gen on 4.2.1 last night. It went perfectly. I used GreenPois0n RC5. It was at Redmond Pie. I can't remember the whole URL, but you should be able to find it there. There are step-by-step instructions and a video. Good luck.

I have same problem with you , and was so desperate none of the thread in the forum can solve this problem until i found this one

    1. use sn0wbreeze 2.2 <- there are plenty tutorial in google how to use this
2.after snowbreeze create restore file , do not restore first
    3. use IREB r5 , run and follow the intsruction , let it repair the phone
    4. then restore the ipod using restore file that is created by sn0wbreeze

it 100% worked for my ipod touch 2g mc model 4.2.1 ...

    have a good try ..

Sn0wbreeze and Greenpois0n are probably the best... Never tried Blackra1n though.
