Need a little help downgrading,

right, im jailbreaking obviously, using jailbreakme.com, but i accidently ungraded my ipod to the new version (4.2.1) which isnt any different to the other one to be honest, anywaaaaay, i cant jailbreak because its been upgraded, any help on how to downgrade? i have blobs and those SHSH things (not too sure what they are called lol)
anywaaay, just like a step to step guide please

If you don't have SHSHs, you can jailbreak where you are but it will be tethered (unless it is a 2G MB model, then it is untethered).

If you don't want a tethered jb, you'll have to wait for a new jb which is likely to come when the next firmware update is released.

If you don't mind tethered, redsn0w will do it, or PwnageTool too if it is a 3g or 4g iPod Touch. 2g MC models cannot jb now. MB models can use Redsn0w only.

What's the difference between tethered and untethered and how do I know what firmware I have or get the one I need without a computer?

Tethered means if your device shuts off or reboots, it needs to be tether booted with Redsn0w before you can access your phone again. It will likely be stuck on the Apple logo until you do so.

Untethered means the above doesn't happen.

You can find out your firmware version via Settings>General>About under "Version" on your device.

I'm pretty sure all iDevices run iOS

Thanks and just two more questions can I do it straight from my iPod touch and if k can how. Or if I have to use my computer what do I need to download and how do I use it

If you're on 3.1.2-4.0.1 you can do it straight from your Safari by going to jailbreakme.com

If you're not on any of those firmwares, you have to use your computer. It depends on which iPod you have and what firmware it is on.

I have 4.2.1 but I want to use the jailbreakme.com one and I need help downgrading on a PC but I can't seem how to figure it out

You need to be on 4.3.3 for jailbreakme.
