Basically the idea behind this modification is that the Digital to Analog converter inside the Ipod and the build quality inside the Ipod is rather poor and therefore this modification cleans up the sound path and from what I have heard meets audiophile standards for a portable media player. You are probably still going to want to run flac through rockbox too though.
