Nothing actually released yet though, sadly. I donated though. hope you guys do too. even if it's only $1 it helps.

Fix iTunes Syncing

19. If you're not already there, navigate to /var/root and rename Media to Media_sym

20. Rename Mediaold to Media. Keep the FTP and SSH windows open.

21. Open iTunes and allow it to activate. If it doesn't recognize your iPod, reboot it and/or restart iTunes.

iTunes acts like it never happened!

It was quite an exhilarating experience.

well, i used the TIFF thing, and i used iPhuc and did the 3 power downs thing. Now, I have an iPod Touch that does NOT show any of my music or images... everything else works. Also, now there is a file in the directory of the ipod called com.apple.itunes.lock_sync

I think this is some file itunes must've put in somehow.

Plus, iTunes does not want to restore my ipod (error -18)

Is there a way i can restore my ipod touch. This is my precious!

I can still double click iphuc and i get access to my ipod , but i dont' know my left from my right in this! I was too quick to play!

Although I'd like to install apps, at this point the most important thing to me is my videos and movies working!

don't worry, it's supposed to be like that... I think you can restore, but i'm not sure. I would just pick up where you are in the guide posted above.

It's so enjoyable.

I don't know exactly what you mean. I can sync fine (I am doing that now, while my iPod text says "**** that" instead of "slide to cancel").

So, yes it keeps iPod functionality working.

It's truly brilliant.

This led me to believe you were saying that it would be making the iPod Touch not be able to access any music etc.

Yes... but at one point along the way it makes your IPT look like it has 260ish Megs, with 25ish available (if you start a sync with itunes)...

After you finish jailbreaking, you go back in there, per the guide, and fix the itunes sync functionality.

I can run most apptap apps for iPhone. I have google maps etc etc shhh

folly, now we just have to wait for the resources that exist already to expand to the 1.1.1 firmware...

then it will be paradise. i have a feeling that will happen tomorrow, along with the release of 1.1.2 :-x

So Adam, can you get us some good screenshots of the process? I'd love to be able to include them in the guide... and make it even easier for people to follow!

I'd love to help out as much as possible, but the "dock" screenshot, which is the only way I've seen it done, doesn't work with IPT.

If you can explain to me how to do screenshots through terminal, I could get some together.

So long as I don't have to truly do the process again... haha

Most of what you do for this jailbreak is through terminal and FTP anyways...

EDIT: Since most of this you only do once, I think the best thing to do would be to recruit an ITP user who's still in jail to screenshot the process...

If anyone would be interested in doing this, I will help you through the process if you need help (to the best extent I can).
