First time doing a tethered jailbreak?
I just jailbroke my iPod on iOS 5. It's my first tethered jailbreak and I did install Semi-Tether. Is it normal for the applications installed through Cydia to have white icons? I don't need to boot tethered but would a boot tethered fix the white icons? Cydia's icon is normal.

Yea normally boot tethered will fix the white icons.

Respringing a few times did the trick for me

First off, I did try boot tethered. It didn't work. It did work after a couple times of respringing but it just went back to the white icons. So now I just solved the problem by applying a theme over them.
