Error 1604 when trying to upgrade
I've searched and searched and searched but haven't found a viable answer...I'm using the instructions here:
[How-To] Using tiny umbrella to update/downgrade/restore
And when I start restoring to 4.3.3, I get error 1604.
Any ideas what's going on and how to get around this? I just got a brand new device from Apple, and it came with 4.3.1. I want to be able to jailbreak with redsn0w (mac) so I need to get to 4.3.3 so I can do so.
Any help?

Device was not pwned (signature checks were not blocked). Custom firmware can't be restored. Can also happen when there's a problem with the ipsw.

Still no go, back to "device isn't eligible for requested build" now.

Sounds like you're not running Tiny Umbrella. Download it, save you SHSH blobs, verify 4.3.3 is there, start TSS server. Then restore to 4.3.3

What SHSH blobs do you have?
The link below contains several tutorials for restoring and jb'ing 4.3.3 for both iPhone 4 and 3GS on Windows and Mac. Start TU + TSS server, then pick the one that fits your phone and computer.

As soon as it updates to 4.3.3, it kicks right back into recovery mode...any idea what's up with that?

At that point, put your device in ...normal... DFU mode and run fixrecovery43.

If you have 4.3.3 SHSH blobs, started TU + TSS server, and followed the iClarified instructions ... it should work.

Here is what I did:
- Put phone into DFU via Redsn0w
- Started TU
- Click "Start TSS Server"
- Opened iTunes
- opt + restore clicked 4.3.3
It ran through till the end, and then again, at the end "10 second countdown" it kicks back into recovery mode.

The 10 second count-down timer is part of redsn0w. If that doesn't work, you must stop and fix it. No reason to continue. Does redsn0w say success?

10 second countdown timer is a part of redns0w????
The timer is in iTunes after a restore, it says it'll reboot after 10 seconds...when the 10 seconds concludes, it's back into recovery mode.
Yes, when I do redsn0w to do DFU mode only, it says it successfully put it into DFU mode.

Anh, after the iTunes restore that window! (redsnow also has one too!
)
So, error 10xx? Now enter ..normal.. DFU, and run fixrecovery43.

No, it doesn't error. The timer concludes, and I'm right back into recovery mode without an error.
