Upgrading from 4.1 to 4.1.2

Hey everyone, pretty new here, just have a quick question So I'm running 4.1 and I want to upgrade to 4.1.2, only thing is 4.3's out so I cant achieve this via itunes. Is there any way to to upgrade to 4.1.2 without going straight to 4.3? Or am I going to have to wait till a jailbreak comes out for 4.3?

download tiny umbrella (google it) and click save my shsh (with your device plugged in). if that comes back and says 4.2.1* (not 4.1.2) then you are able to upgrade to 4.2.1, if it only says 4.1 or not even that, then you won't be able to get to any other firmware besides 4.3

do what was said in my first post, download tinyumbrella save your shsh, if youve got 4.2.1 shsh then you can upgrade to that, if not, than 4.3.1 is the only fw you can get to if you have no other shsh for any other firmwares. if you have no acces to a comp, just open your cyida and tell what it says at the top in green

I had the exact same question. I downloaded tiny umbrella and do not have any shsh files. I am running ipod 4g with 4.1. Am I stuck going to 4.3.1 now and waiting for jailbreak to become available or am I still able to jailbreak?

Yeah I used tiny umbrella and I clicked 'save SHSH'. I got five results

Ipod 4G 4.1.2
Ipod 4G 4.3
Ipod 4G 4.3b1
Ipod 4G 4.3b2
Ipod 4G 4.3b3

(thay all have random numbers and letters after them)

So...what does this mean?

theamilien, that means you down/upgrade to all those firmwares that are listed,

m1k_3, if you are on 4.1, if you stay on that then you can jb 4.1 with redsn0w but it means you can never do a 4.1 restore. so just dont upgrade your software and you'll be fine

Everyone who replied to the original post is wrong they told you have to downgrade to goto 4.2.1: download 4.2.1 ipsw and click restore and windows: Shift Mac: Not sure. And it will let you browse the ipsw. Select the 4.2.1 ipsw and click "OK" then it will restore you to 4.2.1 when it's done it will ask you if you want to set up as new iPod or restore from backup click restore from backup of and select the most recent backup it did (you will know how recent it is by the date) and click ok. Now it will put all your media from before back on(you will have to jailbreak again though). HOPE IT WORKED
