cydia won't start even after restore

one day my cydia just wouldnt start, it would go back to springboard so i restored the ipod and upgraded/jailbreak(4.2.1 fw), installed cydia with redsnow and it still isnt working...i've tried everything under the sun found in forums etc...anyone have any idea what i could do? even after a fresh restore install and still not working

I hate redsnow. Use greenpoison. It works on 4.2.1 and it is untethered.
