Help please?

I've got quite a few games on my iTouch and some of the updates are for 4.2 but I'm on 3.1.2. I don't want to upgrade but I'm seeing that I have no choice but to now. I've got a second generation iTouch, model MB. My question is should I upgrade and if so which jailbreak app would be the best.

If you can, go to 4.0 and nothing higher. I really enjoyed being on 4.0 since it was sort of up to date and most apps still worked.

Do I need upgrade iTunes too? I'm on iTunes 9 but am really hesitant to upgrade to iTunes 10?

I'd update to 10 just incase...i dont think 4.0 will work on 9.

Just a warning before you try, im not 100% sure but if you try to update to just 4.0 you will get an error cuz apple signs 4.0+ firmwares...so you might have to make the big jump to 4.2.1...but dont worry there are a lot of neat apps that work on 4.2.1, pogo plank still works but its buggy (no dock or dock icons) and makeitmine doesn't work so you will have to use iName
