Springboard.app FOR 4.2.1 (Unusual?)

Anytime I use iFile to edit the Springboard.app file, it becomes extremely slow and seems to be in a format that isn't decoded.
I have restored my Ipod Touch and tried it but it is still extremely slow and not in an editable format.

I have also OpenSSH it and downloaded it to Windows to try if a different program would help. Notepad++ was much faster but still did not help as I could not find where the "slide to unlock" or any other functions that were on the file.

I need some help here, is there place to edit the lock screen and other words in a different file for 4.2.1 for Ipod Touch, Is my Springboard.app not decoded, is my Ipod Touch messed up (Which I find highly unlikely), or I'm I doing something wrong with the Springboard.app...

-Basically, I want to know how to edit the "slide to unlock", "slide to power off", "iPod" in the status bar on top, and other misc places...

iFile is not meant for editing apps which are compiled code. You shouldn't try to "edit" them unless you really enjoy restoring.

Below is a link to a procedure for changing the "slide to unlock" text. (I have not tried this; I use "Unlock Remover" which makes it blank.)

Well no I just don't Winterboard because it drain my battery and I could edit it before I updated it to 4.2.1 sooo I wanted to see if I could do it on 4.2.1...
