Untether a Tethered JB? 3.1.2 Blackra1n

Hey all,

I have an iPod Touch 2G Model PC086LL on 3.1.2 firmware jailbroken w/ Blackra1n...so it is a tethered Jailbreak.

What is the easiest way to untether it, and is it possible to untether it w/o having to restore it or update to a different firmware and having to reinstall all of the games/software?

Any good guides out there?

You would have to restore that to rejailbreak it again untethered. You can go to 4.2.1 and jailbreak with greenpoison rc6.1 if you want.

Ok...I thought that 4.2.1 was a bad idea for the 2g touch? Doesn't it slow it down? There's no way to use the newer Redsn0w to try and rejailbreak untethered?

4.2.1 will run a little slower on that, but it isnt bad. Your other choice would be to restore to 3.1.3 (you may need 3.1.3 SHSH) and use jailbreakme.com or spirit to jailbreak.
