I recently bought a Touch 3G, can I downgrade to 3.1.2?
I just bought this iPod after my older one broke, and I've been trying to downgrade it from 4.1 so it can resemble my older iPod which was on 3.1.2. But ever since trying I've been getting restore errors like 3194, and after getting TinyUmbrella, I've been getting error 1064 repeatedly. Is it possible to downgrade at this point? Could I use my SHSH blobs from my old Touch or are those device specific?
Now I'm also getting error 1600, can anyone help me out?Last edited by IllWill894; 02-18-2011 at 07:33 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

If you purchased it new, with 4.1 installed on it from the factory, you will not be able to go back to 3.1.2 because you will not have that devices SHSH on file.
SHSH are device specific, non transferrable.

There is a way to downgrade without shsh blobs. http://mygadgetnews.com/2010/11/25/h...ouch-and-ipad/

And right in that article it says
"IMPORTANT:
* This process is only for those who have already saved the ECIDs with SHSH to Cydia Server for iOS 4.1, iOS 4.0.1 or iOS 4.0.2 and we are sure that you had saved it before the release of iOS 4.2."
On a 3rd gen ipod, just like a 3GS new bootroom, you CAN NOT downgrade if you don't have SHSH saved. It's that simple.

That's how I downgraded but I did have an shsh blob saved. Just upgrade to 4.2.1 and jailbreak the iPod with greenpoison. Then download the right themes and disable multitasking if you really want to have the 3.0 software.
