[HELP] Downgrade iPod 2G from 4.2 to 4.0

Hey,

Well yeah, does anyone know how to downgrade an iPod 2G from 4.2 to 4.0? I downloaded the firmware and held shift and click restore, but it said the the original 2G firmware wasnt right, so yeah does anyone know how to do this?

are you sure it's an iPod 2g? Also are you downloading the right firmware?

+ Apparntley it does not work. So any ideas on how to downgrade? Btw I Havent done the thing where u add a a line thing to the bottom of a file in the drivers folder, this why it wont work?

Download tinyumbrella and see if you have your shsh's saved.

I have mever jail broken it thought? And when I updatd it was on a differnt PC,

It doesn't matter. You don't need to be jailbroken to have your shsh's saved.

Is 4.2 the same as 4.2.1?

4.2 is for devs or the gm (golden master) 4.2.1 is for public release.
