Assistance and Questions
So i am new to jailbreaking, i have seen countless videos and sites about it all and telling me everything i need, i had cydia, BUT for some reason it never included the installer..which everyone says i need. Also when ever i ran MobileTerminal it would turn on for a split second then crash, i own a Ipod touch 2g NON MC model, if someone could email me and help me figure out this all and anything else i need to know i would much appreciate the help thanks!

Not sure what Installer you are talking about.
If you are talking about an application on the iPod 2G, You may have been looking at old videos. Installer was an old(original) app to install jailbreak applications.
If your cydia applications are crashing try reinstalling them from cydia. A file needed may have been corrupted.
What firmware are you on?
What firmware are you trying to jailbreak?
If you already have cydia, are you trying to rejailbreak?Last edited by qnc; 02-11-2011 at 07:19 AM.

When you jailbreak, you have Cydia installed. that's all. All the other stuff you need to install through Cydia. If you can't find the thing you know that's on Cydia, you need to add a source.

The mobile terminal in current cydia repository. Is out dated for iOS4 and above if you want the most current version try here:
Downloads - mobileterminal - Project Hosting on Google Code
I would go for any version that is 426 or higher. I'm not sure of what the version is in cydia but it never worked for me either when I upgraded to 4.1.
As for basic packages, you can decide what is most important to you. I don't like some of the most popular ones so I would probably the wrong person to ask.Last edited by qnc; 02-14-2011 at 01:12 PM.

Mobileterminal works great for me on 4.2.1. Add repo: podzombie.com/repository and download it there.
