CAN YOU JAILBREAK IPOD TOUCH 1st gen witn 4.2.1 firmware

I just bought an Ipod Touch 1st gen with firmware 4.2.1 on it. I already have a 4g ipod jailbroken with redsnow but i cannot get the 1st gen to jailbreak. Does anyone know how or what program to use to jail break the 1st gen with 4.2.1 firmware

I think you have a 2g model.
If not... Then ur ipod is really modded=P

You need to see if it is a 2G or 3G iPod touch. If it is 3G, redsn0w 0.9.6rc8 will jb it but it will be tethered.

If it is a 2G, you need to find out if it's an MC or MB model. Only MB model can use Redsn0w. MC models cannot jb on 4.2.1.

If you have an MC model 2g, you can see if it has SHSHs for 4.1 saved with TinyUmbrella. Then you can downgrade and jailbreak. If you don't have SHSHs, you can't downgrade.
