I thought you said cydia was a white icon that when opened crashed right away?

If you restored then first step is to install cydia. Once done then you use redsnow again to boot tethered.

You should start over. Restore and run redsn0w, choose ONLY Cydia. Then after that's done, it should have Cydia on the springboard. **x98car quote here** After installing cydia he will need to run redsnow again and choose boot tethered before he can run cydia the first time. **end quote** Then go into Cydia and do the complete upgrades in the changes tab, your iPod will want to reboot. When it reboots, it'll be stuck so you will then and only then after having Cydia, run redsn0w and select ONLY boot tethered.

Just missed one step Annie. After installing cydia he will need to run redsnow again and choose boot tethered before he can run cydia the first time.
