iPod acting strange...

So my girlfriend's iPod touch 2g 8GB is being a little strange. She got the Recovery Mode to appear while playing uprising. So I restored it. Now heres the problem...

I restore it, jailbreak it, and less then 15 minutes after jailbreaking, no matter what I do, it crashes. And then when I reboot it, it boots, flashes white, then reboots, in an endless loop.

I've tried normal restore and DFU restore, and this happens on firmware 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2.1. No matter what.

Any help, or possible solutions? Thanks.

What are you using for the jailbreak? Have you tried it with another version?

4.0 I used Redsn0w and Jailbreakme.com
4.1 I used Redsn0w.
4.2.1 I used Redsn0w.

I tried restoring to 2.1.1, seemed to work fine, but I really dont want the iPod running such an outdated version.

Ever tried to use a different beta of redsn0w? You could also try out sn0wbreeze for 4.1 and greenp0ison for 4.1.

I was in the same situation a couple of months ago, it worked with a different usb port, an older beta of redsn0w and running rs in compatibility and admin mode. Hope you did that.
