    No, there is actually still hope. Go to the jailbreakme.com website, and when it says you can't jailbreak your device, there will be a link to one of Saurik's webpages on how to downgrade by a shift+restore, successfully. Please note that on Windows Vista, you need to copy and paste the text in the "hosts" file on your computer in a notepad window with administrator privileges for it to work.

    That only works if you have SHSH.
