iPod Touch 2nd Gen iOS 4.1

Hi guys, basically I jailbroke a friend's ipod touch with snowbreeze. Only problem is it is synced on my computer so he can't add any music or anything to it from iTunes. I'm pretty sure a box should popup saying would you like to resync to your computer or something?
Also if he does do this, will the jailbreak be lost?

Another solution I was thinking of was giving him the .IPSW file on a CD, but I'm not sure if this would work?

So yeah I would appreciate replies on the best solution

Hi. Don't forget to save your friend's iPodTouch's SHSH blobs.

Just let him sync his jailbroken iPodTouch on iTunes in his pc. He will just loose all the files that you have previously synced in your pc.

I have not experience my iPodTouch being unjailbroken by iTunes when my brother accidentally synced mine in his laptop. I just lost all music and videos and files that was previously synced in my pc.

Did you click "make my life easier" in Cydia . If so, you're ok.
You can also download TinyUmbrella and run it in your pc then
plug your iPodtouch. TinyUmbrella will detect it then click "save shsh". It will tell you what firmware you can restore to.

Yes I did! What does that mean though? He should be able to restore anyway right :P

I used snowbreeze but the pc I used did not have iTunes so I moved the new ipsw over to my mac and did the option restore. Just make sure your iPod is in it's jailbreak mode with ireb. Hope that helps

It's always good to save your shsh in Cydia so we can restore back even if Apple stops signing old firmwares.

Yeah when I jailbroke it I didn't have to use iReb only snowbreeze. So I guess I will tell him to Synch with his iTunes, plan B will be hand over the .IPSW

Sorry for double post but he has updated it to 4.2 because he couldnt get anything to sync on itunes. So can you guys recommend jailbreaking tools for 4.2

Redsnow. But if your friend's iPodTouch is an MC model it will be a tethered jailbreak.
