Shift + Click update for 4.0 doesn't work?

I have a jailbroken 2nd generation ipod with 3.0 firmware. I am trying shift click restore/update up to 4.0 firmware, but I keep getting 3000 and 3004 errors.

I have the newest (10.1) iTunes.

You should just update to 4.2.1, then, click on this link:
