iPod touch 2g MB Jailbreak trouble...

I have an iPod touch 16GB 2nd generation Model MB531LL running with a windows vista laptop and I wish to jailbreak it...

However, I have tried to before and have been reading all of the different problems people had --they all seem very similar.

I first tried to J/Break using redsn0w version 9.5b5 which had my ipod operating very slowly with wireless connected but no internet access Plus, Cydia had a whited out icon and would let me click on it only to bring me back to the home screen with very annoying white fuzz appearing every-time I transition between pages.

Reading different troubleshoots, I tried to change something under "system32/drivers/etc/hosts" but I am unable to save the document. Although, I can't even figure out if I have the right shsh blobs because i have no clue where to find them.

I would very much appreciate if someone could throw me a bone here...

I'm currently in iOS 4.2.1.

I guess you are using a too old redsn0w, try to download redsn0w 9.6b5 (http://sites.google.com/a/iphone-dev...edirects=0&d=1) and try again. Let me know what happenned...

EDIT: Try to restore to factory mode before trying the new redsn0w and make sure you have the right .ipsw

Alright! so instead of going through redsn0w again I downgraded to 4.0.8 firmware and used iTunes recovery. Then went to Jailbreakme.com on my iPod and instantly got jail broken. Thanks for the help.
