Background Directory

Hey you guys,
I got an iPod touch 2g on iOS 4.2. Because of performance issues i haven't enabled using my own wallpaper as a background. And i dont want winterboard either.
In i think OS 3.1.3 i was able to figure out where the directory with the background was. I've looked around in 4.2 but i just can't find it.
Could anyone tell me where it is?

Hey i have an ipod touch 2g with wallpaper as background enabled and for me there is no noticible performance issues and i also use winterboard themes.
Winterboard themes work fine on 2g as long as they arn't realy big intensive themes. Most themes will have no major affect on performace.
Using winterboard is a much easier way to change your homescreen Background.
