Jailbroke with Spirit. Cannot restore. Error 1601. Last hope!
Ipod touch 1G-running 3.1.3-Jailbroke with Spirit
Hi. I have been working on this for countless hours and i have read many topics but have never found one that is exactly like mine or that has resolved my problem.
I had my iPod downloading something when all of a sudden it crashed. I could not get it to turn back on or even respond in the slightest. I then thought, "Well maybe it died." So i plugged it in and when I did the apple logo came up but then about 15 seconds later it died. Only once have i been able to get it to the "please connect to itunes icon" (while plugged into the wall charger), but the second i tried to switch it to the computer the iPod dies on me.
Now i have tried everything under the sun to get it to communicate with my computer/iTunes. The only way i can even get it to show up is by putting it into DFU mode (and yes i'm doing it correctly becuase when plugged into the computer it shows no sign of life). EVERY time i try anything i get stuck in "Preparing iPod for Restore" and then get ERROR 1601. I have tried the following: Uninstalling EVERY apple related app and reintall it, hard boot, stock firmware 3.1.2, stock firmare 3.1.3, moving log files to new locating, moving file in "Device support", ive even tried iREB which gives me a download FAILED.
This is my last hope of anything. Please help me, anything is appriechated.
Here is the log file that is ALWAYS the same. (it makes 2 I will put a "-------------" in between them)

Do you live near an Apple Store? If so you might want to try waving it by them. There is usually no charge for them to fix software issues, at least in my experience. My Martian intuition says "display hardware failure".

It sounds like the unit is in bad enough shape that the Apple store people won't be able to tell that it's jailbroken. Let them do a little free diagnostic work, and if they get it to the point that they can tell, it is probably fixed. You can always play dumb and say "Jailbroken? What's that? Oh, that must be that thing my friend did to it...".

Yeah i took it to best buy because i have an extended warrenty there. I told them i couldnt get it to turn on, the geek squad guy took it from me, tried to turn it on, and told me i'd get a new one in the mail in two weeks. Done deal. Thanks anyway.
