iPod Touch 2g jailbreak trouble

Okay, there's probably quite a few threads like this but I couldn't find any so I have to resort to making a new one.

I am trying to update my iPod touch from 3.1.2 to 4.0.1 (haven't upgraded in quite awhile) so I can use jailbreakme.com.

Is it possible to upgrade to 4.0.1 with 3.1.2 shsh blobs saved? How would I go about saving them to get this to work?

K it's an iPod touch, since u don't need it unlock just jailbroken upgrade it to 4.1 in iTunes then go to limera1n.com or greenpoison.com to jailbreak it

I would go and save your shsh files though go download "umbrella"
A simple google search of "umbrella iPhone shsh" should do it, the links are on the right when the page appears

Greenpois0n is the only option for iPod Touch 2G on 4.1.

Unfortunately you can't do much without a computer in regards to this situation. So...you don't really have a choice. Jailbreakme is the only way to jb without a computer but it only works on 4.0-4.0.1. If you're on 4.1, you'd have to downgrade. You need a computer to downgrade. If you're still on 3.1.2 and wanna upgrade, you still need a computer. Therefor, you should wait to get your computer back or find someone who will let you borrow a computer.

Just go find a tech guy with an iPhone I'm sure they'll do it for u, make sure there a parent, you'll get further if it's a dad then a married guy without kids

All they have to do is go to a site and download 1 file

Okay it's an iPod no need to downgrade, upgrade it to 4.1, then go to limera1n.com or greenpoison.com on the computer then download the jailbreak tool

You can't use Limera1n on an iPod Touch 2G. It has to be Greenpois0n
