ipod touch 2G with 2.2.1...

Hi everyone. I'm new , just got this refurbish i pod touch, supposed to have 3... but as soon as it was plug and open showed me otherwise, 2.2.1 with only the possibility to upgrade to 4.1... Anyway, can anyone direct me on what is the the best way to upgrade and jailbreak this device?

Just hit upgrade in iTunes to get to 4.1. Jailbreak with Greenpois0n.

Not sure if this will work for you but I managed to update my 2.2.1 to 3.0 and then 4.0 to jailbreak it with redsn0w 9.6b1.I searched and tried so many different methods/versions of iTunes etc but I got there in the end. In case you wanted to try and goto FW 3.0 or 4.0 then the link to what I did is here:

iPod Touch 32GB FW 2.2.1 (5H11a)

But as stated above you can now jailbreak 4.1 with Greenpois0n.
