plug the ipod into the computer
hold the power and home button for 10 seconds then lease the power button and hold the button for at least 30 seconds the screen will still be black but you should get a message on the computer about it, once you get the message click ok then click restore

You wanna set it into Recovery Mode so iTunes will recognize it. If manual doing so doesn't work, get Recboot and force it into Recovery Mode. Then iTunes will recognize it and you'll restore to 4.1. Then jailbreak it with Greenpois0n.
If you have SHSHs, run TinyUmbrella's TSS server and shift+restore to the desired firmware you will use. Then jailbreak it again.

This might be in DFU mode. Kick it out by holding home+power for as long as until it shows the Apple Logo.
