i have an ipod touch 2g on 3.1.2 with model no begin with mc. i cant seem to find a guide that helps me. this will be my first jailbreak attempt and i dont wanna mess it up. thanks

Maybe this is what you have been looking for.

Requirements
Any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch on firmware 3.1.2, 3.1.3, or 3.2 (not 3.2.1).
An activated device: one not stuck on the Connect to iTunes or Emergency Call screen.
Any version of iTunes 9 earlier than 9.2
Syncing with iTunes before trying this is highly recommended.
