    Default Cydia, and saving SHSH's

So i've finally restored, but I had to upgrade to 4.0.
I figured out I can't downgrade to 3.1.2, even though I saved my SHSH's through cydia while i was on 3.1.2.
It turns out, Cydia saved my shsh's for 4.0, instead of 3.1.2, despite the fact I had never been on 4.0 till now.
    ...
Why in the world wouldn't Cydia save them for 3.1.2 if thats what I was using?
    It's ridiculous.
And the whole time, I thought I had them saved for 3.1.2.
So yeah, this is just a warning, look in cydia and actually read what SHSH's it has saved, because otherwise you might get a rude awakening like me.
    Yep, alright, bye.

Shsh only save for what firmware apple is signing..
So if you just hit make my life easier button or tiny umbrella then thats why.. If you did this when 3.1.2 was the newest firmware then it would have saved for 3.1.2

So if I was on 3.1.2 when 4.0 was the newest firmware, there would be no way to save my shsh's?

No. Apple stopped signing 3.1.2 shsh's like eight months ago. If u log on cydia it shows what shsh's you have. Apple is on 4.1 now
