4.0.2 downgrade

I have an Ipod Touch 3 Gen which is a MC model with software 4.0.2. Is it possible to downgrade this software so I can jailbreak it? If so, what firmware do I downgrade to and please provide detailed steps as I am new at this.

You cannot downgrade without SHSHs saved. Check with TinyUmbrella to see if you have any.

If a solution comes up, I want in. I have a non mc model 2g iPod touch 16 gig running 4.02 and really miss the free movies. Any ideas?

Will using Tiny Umbrella mess up my ipod to check the SHSH's if I have 4.0.2? I just want to see if it is possible to downgrade it. Which file of tiny umbrella do I need with the steps?

no it wont mess up your ipod.. and the newest version will do just fine
