Downgrade from iOS 4 to 3.1.3 w/out SHSHs?

is there any way to downgrade from 4.0 to 3.1.2/3.1.3, jailbroken w/ jailbreakme.com?
2ndgen, MC model if it matters
almost forgot: i only have SHSHs from 4.0 jailbreak not any from 3.1.3, if i cant do above could i use my friend's, he has a 1st gen he just jailbroke w/ the same process?

the only option then for you is redsn0w or pwnage tool

but beware these tools/jailbreaks are tethered jailbreaks

p.s using these tools is pretty much your only option

Ya, I kinda figured as much, f*** it, I'll wait until the devs fix the packages so they're compatible w/ 4.0

Do either redsn0w or pwnage tool work with a 2ndgen MC model. I did not know that. You could try downloading 3.1.3 and use a old itunes to shift click restore. I did it no probs when ios4 was released but when I try aboout a week ago I could not. May be worth a try. Good luck.

you can not downgrade without shsh blobs straight from itues
you must of did it in the small window when ios4 was released

ok, im willing to go the tethered route, can u provide a link to to the pwngtool and instructions on how to downgrade from 4.0 to 3.1.2/3 w/ it and the 4.0 SHSHs, if ill even need those?
suppose i actually do this and am successfully put on 3.1.2/3 tethered JB, could i restore to non-JB 3.1.2/3 and then just goto jailbreakme.com and make it a non-tethered JB, after-wards?

Not possible. Those dev tools are tethered i.e. those tools temporarily flash the firmware, not the boot rom. Comex, the creator or jailbreakme, warned against this on twitter as this has a good chance of permanently bricking the device. The device will also still have a 4.0 shsh afterwards as this is a hardware generated checksum. I checked my buddies 3.1.2 device and it had 4.0 shsh's. These are automatically updated by syncing with iTunes. That said, jailbreakme is compatible with all os3/ios4 releases except 4.0.2 which was released today, which patches that hole, so I would save your 4.0 shsh with firmware umbrella so u will not be locked out of all jailbreaks. The tethered would be your only option at that point. I also think they have stopped signing 4.0 today
