Ipod Touch 2g problem

ok well my ipod was running 3.1.2 jailbroken by spirit so I decided to upgrade to the new firmware and have been at this for some tme already. I hit restore it downloads the firmware everything goes well until it gets to the point where it says restoring ipod software...it has only a little green left and it gets stuck there for more then ten minutes same with iPod its at the apple logo with a tiny sliver left , i have windows 7, i need hellpp , any suggestions , oh and it wont boot or anything it stays in recovery mode
