i have a 3G ipod touch running 3.1.2 that i would like to jailbreak for a friend. most posts say that there is no jailbreak

for the models that start with MC, except for tethering, is that true? does anyone know when a jailbreak will be offered without tethering? thank you in advance...

You can do untethered jailbreak on all iPod Touch's, all generations, via Spirit.
