Jailbreak ipod touch 3g iOS 4

Hi guys,
I updated by mistake my ipod touch 3G to firmware 4.0
Before it was on 3.1.2 jailbroken
How can I Jailbroke it again or downgrade it?
I sampled it with TyUmbrella, an iTunes restore mode, but if I do this, theres a error 3002 and if I sample it only with iTunes theres the error 3914 Please help

Did you back up your SHSH blobs with Cydia? If so, it's not too hard to downgrade, saurik's got a guide somewhere.

No, thats the problem, i backed up nothing, so what can i do now to jailbreak it again?

Hm. I may be mistaken, but I'm reasonably sure you're out of luck until a jailbreak for the iPod touch 3G on IOS 4 comes out.

EDIT: http://twitter.com/MuscleNerd/status/17778540045. Apparently a 4.0 jailbreak has been made, it just hasn't been released yet with a new minor iOS release expected soon.

He/she said they didn't have their SHSH blobs backed up in Cydia, otherwise I would've given them this link. You can't downgrade otherwise on an iPod touch 3G unless you use TinyUmbrella or similar software to backup your SHSH blobs.

I have a 2G touch with FW 2.2.1 and I want to upgrade the firmware, but the only firmware that is available is 4.0 correct? I won't be able to jailbreak it presently if I upgrade the firmware. Am I correct about this?

2G touches are jailbroken on 4.0 with sn0wbreeze, but you can actually Google "iPod touch IPSW <version number>" (where <version number> is the version iPod touch software you want) and then hold shift while you click Upgrade (on Windows) in iTunes to upgrade your iPod touch to whatever version you like. 2G touches are freely upgradeable and downgradeable if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the reply. I would rather upgrade to 3.1.2 because of all the issues I have read about the 4.0 upgrade.

I'm a little confused since I read on iclarified (I think) that I need to pay for the 3.0 upgrade. I would gladly do so if needed. However, you are saying that I can bypass the 3.0 and upgrade to 3.1.2 correct?

go to this website and download 3.1.2 firware and then use black ra1n www.felixbruns.de/ipod/firmware... connect your ipod into itunes and thenon the restore button press shift and hold it and click it find your 3.1.2 firmware that you saved on your desktop and click it. when its done dowload blackra1n and jailbreak

search on google and write in anything on the lines of "ipod touch downloads" and then download the software you want like... 3.1.2 etc.. and then go on i tunes , go to your ipod tab... and then hold the shift button and press on restore... then find the file u have downloaded and then click that and it will resotre it to that version. if you need any help email me on [email protected]

or you could easily just jailbreak ios 4.0 like i did. just use redsn0w 0.9.5 if you need any help with doing so, just email me and ill see if i can help. [email protected]

this jailbreak currently supports all idevices jailbreakme.com i used this on my ipod 2g 4.0 worked fine.
