Downgrading iOS 4.0 to 3.1.3
Well, got my replacement iPod, was set to 3.1.3, decided to restore for a fresh start.
Wrong thing to do, I know.
Getting Error 3014 (during recovery and DFU mode).
Getting Error 3914 (during normal mode).
Of course, no SHSH's since it's a fresh iPod.
Any possible way to downgrade iOS 4.0 to 3.1.3 without SHSH?
Doubtful, I know, but haven't been in the jailbreaking scene for a couple weeks.. The most important weeks
Anyways, some help/advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
BTW, sorry for another downgrading topic!

You can't restore to 3.1.3 w/o SHSH
For the error, remove your wifi sync

Well, do you have wifi sync on your computer?
Apple not signing should say 'This device is not eligible for the requested build'

Sorry, my bad, I missed the point on the first post :P
Just asking in case you had it on your previous device....
You don't need the app on the device to install it on your computer
And if you do have it on your computer, it will mess up the restore procedure and get 3014 error

Weird, thought wifi sync was only supported for macs so far.
Exactly! Which means they could have refurbished as 3.1.3s, refurbished are brand new.. to me!

Hmm, I think Error 3014 is your connection to Apple is dead.
Since my I can't go anywhere in iTunes (to let's say iTunes Store, or restore for that matter)..
I think I'm going to have to fix that.
But I went into Apple today with Genius Bar Appointment, walked out about 5 minutes later with a 3.1.3 iPod 3rd Gen.
I'm happy.
Just gotta wait for my ZAGG to come before I take it out of its original little vinyl case thingymajig.
