Ipod trying to be jailbroken

I tried jailbreaking a ipod touch 3g 32gb using spirit on 3.1.3, but ever time i plug it in and click jailbreak it says jailbreak succesed, but the ipod doesnt do anything. Tried doing it a good 5 times but nothing works

Here's what you should try to do:

1. make sure you downloaded from the official source.
2. put it in compatibility mode for win 98/me
3. plug in ipod
4. let itunes open
5. leave itunes open
6. run spirit
7. click jailbreak after device is found.
8. right after the rainbow screen starts on your device unplug ipod touch
